What inspired you to enter the cannabis industry?
In 2010 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 38. I utilized cannabis during my vicious battle. During my healing process I went into a deep self-study of how and why we get sick. This was a transformative experience.
I researched how to live preventively and how to utilize natural medicine. What I found was cannabis is a SUPER POWERFUL HEALING PLANT. While utilizing it during my battle I had no idea the healing powers of this plant. Had I known more, I would have utilized cannabis differently. I wish I would have known then what I know now.
This information is vital for the masses. I've made it my mission to share it.

During my battle almost with cancer 7 years ago I discovered all of this new knowledge in regards to health and wellness. I had the vision of starting a retreat and sharing this information through a moving experience.
In 2016 after 1 year of searching for our home, we purchased what we now call Tristan's Retreat. I became an integrative Wellness Life Coach and retired from my career of making 6 figures to pursue my dream of sharing the sacred cannabis plant and empowering women to be their best self.
This process was a build up of years of visualizing building and taking the big jump to leave my career. It was a big risk! Honestly, it was a difficult time for me. But I also felt in my soul it was what I needed to pursue.
Today I am doing exactly that! I've developed an empowering experience through overnight retreats implementing all the tools I've learned over the years, cannabis being one of them.
During the retreats we participate in a wide range of activities. We cover things like self-love and self-development while implementing whole foods, essential oils, and cannabis. It is a full body experience. Utilizing all of these modalities of healings from the earth can help make sure our bodies are functioning properly.
In fact, our bodies feel vibrant and alive! Why? We are supplying our mind, body, and soul with the nutrition it needs.
I believe understanding this connection is the biggest step to fulfilling all our hopes and dreams.
Being well mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually plays a key factor in our overall well-being. Learning how to use natural forms of healing like cannabis can help us lead happier and healthier lives.
How has cannabis influenced your life?
On a personal level, cannabis has alleviated my chronic pain, anxiety, and insomnia. I also know cannabis is preventing cancer from forming in my body.
The other beauty of cannabis is witnessing how it helps others suffering from so many illnesses.
I'm inspired and grateful that I get to be living in a time where we are bringing cannabis back into our lives and appreciate its value. This plant has been around for thousands of years. To be living in a time where we are discovering the history and the power of this plant again is incredible. I'm inspired and grateful to be a part of it. I will spend my life sharing this message.
What have been your biggest hurdles operating in the cannabis industry so far?
The biggest challenge has been bringing awareness to people of the super healing powers cannabis has. I believe we are all doing the best that we can with the knowledge that we have.
Getting people to be more open to learning and experiencing cannabis in a healthy manner is huge. Understanding or taking a little time to research the history and the features and benefits of this plant is important for all people.
It saddens me how people don't take charge of their life and be their own advocate. There's so much unnecessary suffering in this world.
How have you been able to overcome these challenges?
Persistence in doing everything I do with love. One person at a time. With every step of the way, it's perseverance and I truly believe this is God's plan for me and a part of my life's purpose.

Any tips for maintaining a work/life balance?
Yes! I love this as this is a part of my coaching. I'm a firm believer in trying to find balance in it all.
Even with cannabis, I microdose using different strains and forms. I believe cannabis is a medicine that can help bring balance in our lives. Cannabis can ground you if used in a healthy manner. A big part of this is integrating cannabis into a healthy lifestyle by choosing whole foods and other herbs to stay healthy and hydrated.
I also recommend finding alone time every day. In addition, adding some movement to your life is huge! Things like working out, dancing, or yoga can add so much value to your life. Even if it's only 5 minutes, start somewhere!
If you implement these into activities into your day the balance comes more naturally.
When you're burned out on the work side, take a time-out. When we feel burned out our performance isn't there. So take time-outs and be proud of your work, celebrate your successes. Set your mood no matter what you're doing, whether it be working, cleaning, or making dinner.
Try to implement mindfulness in all aspects of your life. It helps everything come to the center and make life more enjoyable. Work life, home life, it is your one life!
What are your favorite resources/tools for your business and why?
Social media/networking is so important! I found it's the best way to spread the message and share my retreat/experience.
I also work with the best hemp oil in the world. I've worked with many oils including my own homemade, which is amazing. But this particular hemp oil has nano technology and is bio available. You notice a difference within three minutes and long-term there are so many benefits. I've personally found that my chronic pain and anxiety is gone! It has truly enriched my life.
Hands-down, it is the best product. I could refer her to anyone because I know it has had a big impact on my life. It's my biggest tool next to the retreats. This oil is a game changer.
Another seriously helpful tool is YouTube. Its full of educational documentaries and studies on the super healing power of cannabis. YouTube is also a great resource for referencing people who are on the fence about cannabis because there is so much life changing content there.
The internet as a whole is home to so much information. You can learn about everything from dosing to recipes to even growing.
If you could offer an aspiring cannabis entrepreneur one piece of advice, what would it be?
Be passionate about your pursuits.
Do it for the love of the plant and all that it brings in helping people heal, medicinal and recreational. Don't chase the money of cannabis. Do good things with your pursuits and the money will come.
I believe we are on the right path as the awareness slowly but surely continues as cannabis is legalized across states. The endless stories of healing and helping people are making a difference. I feel grateful to be living in this legendary time where I believe we have a cure for so many illnesses.
As I am a cancer survivor myself, it's an honor to spread the message of cannabis loud and proud. For the recreational side, it's the new wine tasting days. Cannabis is the best recreational vice if you were to consume something in your body for an altered state of mind.
I'm fierce in my message of supporting cannabis because I've lived the battles, I've seen the suffering, and I've seen the healing and happiness this plant brings. My life is living proof.
Be a slave to your own one self and you will receive the greatest gift This One Life.
