In the beginning, what inspired you to first get involved with cannabis?
My life partner Steve! Steve and I love to enjoy cannabis together, and when I first started cooking cannabis infused foods it was for us! Those first attempts made me realize how little reliable information there is out there about cooking with cannabis.
It took some trial and error, but with practice, I was able to create a really incredible edibles experience. We had such a good time enjoying the effects of those meals together, I want to help make it possible for other people to achieve the same thing!
What sets you apart as a cannabis culinarian?
I write to make cooking with cannabis accessible to home cooks! I have always loved food and entertaining, but as a busy professional I do not always have the time to cook elaborate or labor intensive dishes. As a result, my cannabis infused cooking focuses on elevating quality ingredients in simple recipes.

Any tips for cooking with cannabis?
Often the best vehicle for infusing a dish is a dressing or sauce! Dressings and sauces are easily measured and portioned for proper dosing, and in my experience take effect faster.
How about avoiding over indulgence?
Get to know yourself. Learning your ideal dose is so important for enjoying edibles. Remember that eating edibles is a totally different experience from smoking or vaping. Always start with less than you think you need, and wait at least an hour before consuming more.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
There is so much to love about what I am doing now it's difficult to choose! But it would have to be the process of developing and photographing the recipes for my blog.
I love experimenting in the kitchen, and taking a recipe from inspiration to execution. Plus as an added bonus, there is lots of taste testing involved!
Name one way cannabis has changed your life
The biggest and most recent change was moving to California, and converting my blog into cannabis infused cooking! Cannabis also enhances my life by helping me be a more relaxed and creative version of myself!
Do you have any advice for maintaining a work-life balance?
When you are starting a business that you are passionate about, it is incredibly easy to allow work to bleed over into all parts of your life. I set aside at least one hour every morning for mediation and yoga.
Steve and I also try to set aside one night a week for date night where we don’t talk about any business related issues. Creating that space is so necessary for your mental wellbeing, and ultimately will allow you to do your best work.
What is one thing most people would be surprised to learn about cooking with cannabis?
Infusing cannabis into your everyday meals can be a safe, delicious and healthy part of your life! Whether it is a micro dosed lunch to promote wellness, or if it’s a cannabis infused dinner party with your friends, edibles don’t have to be sketchy brownies.
With the right education, edibles can be a healthy poke bowl, zucchini fritters, pumpkin gnocchi, or any other of your favorite meals!
If you could offer an aspiring cannabis entrepreneur one piece of advice, what would it be?
Be authentic. Find what it is that you love doing that other people enjoy, and stay true to that.
